Culture Image and Positive Identity Project
Culture Image and Positive Identity Programme is for young people who live in Chapeltown, Scotthall, Buslingthorpe & Harehills communities of Leeds.
The aims of the programme is to address young peoples culture and identity, but also to address community safety in depth regarding the recent incidents and events around knife, gun crime and gang culture.
The target group is to work with young people from different ethnicities and the importance for them to embrace their own cultural identity; whilst at the same time sharing their own with others through the use of team work, group discussions and role play using a range of materials, learning styles and practical methods where they are able to engage and participate.
The programme would look at culture and identity over eight weeks with a residential attached with the young people consulted as to where they would like to go, with visits to museums.
